Closed-beta Terms of Use
The rules for testing VareVenn while the service, data, and mobile app are still being built.
1. Who operates VareVenn
Launch blocker: the final operator’s legal name and postal country/address where required must be added before public access. “VareVenn” is the working service name. Closed-beta questions can be sent to kontakt@varevenn.no.
2. The beta service
VareVenn helps people locate exact grocery products, record store sightings and prices, prepare shopping lists, and contribute community data. The beta may change, pause, lose experimental features, or contain errors. It is not a promise that an item is currently in stock, that a price is current, or that a route is safe or accessible.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account contact information, keep login methods secure, and notify the operator if you suspect misuse. Your public display name may be a nickname. You may not impersonate another person, create accounts to evade moderation, automate spam, or share an admin account.
4. Community contributions
Only submit information you reasonably believe is genuine. Product photos should show products, packaging, shelf labels, or other relevant evidence and must not deliberately capture people, payment information, private correspondence, or unrelated personal data. Do not claim a remembered price is current when you are unsure.
5. Permission to use submissions
You keep any rights you have in your submissions. You grant the VareVenn operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, adapt, verify, display, and distribute the submitted data and product images only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote VareVenn. You confirm you are allowed to submit that material.
6. Points and badges
Points, ranks, badges, and supporter cosmetics are in-service features with no cash value. They may be corrected, reversed, hidden, or reset when caused by duplicates, mistakes, fraud, abuse, technical faults, or a launch migration. Deleting and re-submitting the same contribution to farm points is prohibited.
7. Moderation and staff authority
Moderators may correct names, hide leaderboard entries, request evidence, reject contributions, suspend ordinary accounts, and retain an audit record. Only the Owner may appoint, promote, demote, or otherwise change an admin account. Serious or repeated abuse may result in account restriction or deletion.
8. Availability and liability
Use the beta at your own judgment. Verify important prices, ingredients, allergens, opening hours, travel conditions, and stock with the store or manufacturer. Nothing in these terms removes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded under Norwegian law.
9. Ending an account
You may download your account data and permanently delete an ordinary account from Account settings. Unpublished recipe submissions and their images are removed. VareVenn may keep limited, access-restricted pseudonymous records and published contributions where necessary for security, fraud prevention, disputes, legal duties, and contribution integrity; public attribution is replaced with Deleted User where appropriate. The controlled end-to-end deletion test remains a launch requirement.
10. Changes and law
Material changes should be explained before they take effect and may require fresh acceptance. Norwegian law applies, subject to mandatory consumer protections. The current contact route is kontakt@varevenn.no; a final complaint procedure must be completed before public launch.
